    Awesome camera
I’ve been a loyal Vantrue customer for years, and my experience with their dash cameras has been nothing short of excellent. I had an older Vantrue camera that I bought 5-6 years ago, which still works great. However, I recently decided to upgrade to a newer version with 360-degree coverage, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The new camera is fantastic and comes with both front and rear cameras, providing comprehensive coverage. The attachment is very solid and adheres firmly to the windshield, giving me peace of mind that it will stay in place. One of the standout features is the video quality—it’s truly amazing. The clarity and detail in the footage are impressive. Additionally, the fact that it connects via WiFi to the Vantrue app makes it incredibly functional and easy to review videos. The app even shows the map of the route, which is a great added feature for reviewing trips and ensuring accuracy in case of any incidents.I highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for great quality and solid build. Vantrue continues to exceed my expectations with their durable and high-performing products!

Vantrue N5: Great Dash Cam To Cover All Angles
So I ordered the Vantrue N5 to upgrade from my existing dashcam. The one I had previously recorded the outside of the front and back. I wanted something that would also record the inside. The installation was pretty easy. The only difficult part is running the cables and hiding them. Thankfully Vantrue includes a pry tool so you can pry along your doors and ceiling to hide the cables. Be careful when you mount as the included cleaning pad had some type of chemical that messed up the plastic piece I mounted the front camera to. I would recommend just using rubbing alcohol to clean the area before mounting. As far as the video goes, it is super clear and great quality. It gets all the angles I need, including the front, driver and passenger, rear, and rear cargo. The quality is good enough to be able to get license plate numbers and the cameras lenses are wide enough to capture everything you would need. It has lots of other cool features like wifi connection to your phone, gps, speed detection, etc. It has a parking mode but I haven’t really used it since I don’t have a battery to hook it up to.I would definitely recommend this camera for those who want to capture both outside and inside. It is perfect if you’re driving uber or lyft or if you’d just like to protect yourself from all the bad drivers out there!

    Excellent 4 channel dash cam
This will be the 8th dash cam I’ve owned. I was looking for a second dash cam to cover my rear when I discovered (I didn’t know they existed) these 4 channel dash cams. The others didn’t last very long and had trouble reading SD cards. Dash cams are important to have for your own protection. I’ve had to use a dash cam twice so far for my insurance company – once to show that when my wife rear-ended someone the damage was not as bad as they claimed, it proved she only bumped them at idle speed, and the other time to prove that damage to my window and roof came from road debris. The cameras really pay for themselves. My favorite feature is the fact that it uses USB-C connections. Finally, I’m so sick of the USB Mini connectors from 20 years ago in most dash cams, so thank you for adding that. Of course, that meant I had to rewire my connection as I do have a hard connection so I don’t have to mess with the power adapter (which doesn’t work in my car anyways). I had a USB-A female connector wired to my fuse box, so I was hoping I’d just have to run a USB-A to USB-C cable to connect it, which I tried first. However, while it worked it would cut in and out for the first few minutes of driving. I contacted Vantrue technical support and they responded promptly – I think I emailed at midnight and got a response within a few minutes. Anyways, it wasn’t giving enough power so I just bought the official Vantrue hard-wiring kit and hooked that up. I really liked the kit as well, it came with 9 fuse adapters, 3 of each for 3 different types of fuses. I didn’t get that with my last hardwire kit, so that was a pleasant surprise as I needed all 3 sizes. After hooking that up, the camera worked perfectly.Last week I did an 900 mile each way round trip from Georgia to Michigan, and the camera worked flawlessly the entire time. No issues with the SD card like my last camera. One feature that really helped me is that since my car was packed to the brim, I couldn’t see out my rear view mirror. The camera has a button that lets you make the main display any of the 4 cameras, so I set that to my rear camera and used that as my mirror. It even worked great in the early morning before the sun came up, I was able to see clearly what was behind me.So the 4 channel dash cam part – I really was mainly interested in the front and rear, but I can see the advantage of interior cameras as well. There are instances where you may need to prove you weren’t texting while driving (or worse) so having the camera over the interior as well should provide enough evidence of that.Be careful where you mount the front camera, I put it in the same spot as my old one without thinking, and the mirror almost blocks the very top of the front interior camera, so pay attention to that. They have an app as well, which I wasn’t expecting to work because it seems a lot of consumer electronic companies include them as an afterthought and it wouldn’t be the first time I was unable to get them to work. However, I am happy to report that I was able to connect to the wifi on the camera on the first try. From there I was able to see my cameras on a bigger screen which was nice. I think I may get a phone mount and use that for the display a bit lower as it would be nice to have a bigger screen. Another nice thing about the app is that you can set all the camera options from it, which is easier than navigating on the small screen sometimes.I reviewed the video, and it was nice and crisp, no complaints there. The night vision was excellent as well, and it captured sound nicely. One thing I will have to wait and see on is the mount. It comes with a sticky mount using mounting tape. The tape is 3M, so I’m glad they included a good brand, if it wasn’t I would’ve bought it myself. So far after about 3 weeks of use, including some 95 degree days it has held tight. I believe they sell a suction cup mount separately, but I really hope the tape holds as I’ve never had a dash cam stay on my window for more than 2 weeks with a suction cup without it falling off.Another thing I liked was that it came with all the things I need to install it, and the cable for the rear camera was plenty long enough. They even included a small trim tool for getting under the trim, even though I have some, it was thoughtful to include it for those that don’t. It was also packaged real nice, it gave the whole camera a nice professional feel to it, unlike the cheaper brands I’ve been buying. The camera feels well built – not just cheap plastic, it really does feel like something you’d expect for the price.Overall, I’m extremely happy with the purchase

The Vantrue 4 channel dashcam is a quality, feature-rich dashcam that is easy to use and truly plug and play. We didn’t encounter a single glitch during setup or daily use and it has proven to be a very reliable, strong performing dashcam for our family vehicle. The app is very easy to use and the product is backed by amazing customer service.Packaging and First ImpressionsThe packaging is premium. Every item is well packaged and protected. All 4 lenses have protective plastic over them. The unboxing experience had a premium feel to it.InstallThe install and setup was a breeze from running the wires with the provided tool and instructions, to following the prompts on the screen when powering up the dashcam for the first time. The menu and the app are intuitive to use and not overcrowded with options, giving us the ability to choose which channels to record or turn off and at different resolutions, set sensitivity, turn on/off voice control, mileage statistics tracking etc. We appreciated the reminders along critical install stages to help avoid redos or mistakes and we are glad that there was an extra set of sticking pads provided as we may move this dashcam to our larger vehicle. It’s also very nice to see that Vantrue has thought about installs for longer 3 row suvs. The install instructions for the hardwire kit (purchased separately) were easy to follow as well.Daily useThe dashcam has performed flawlessly over the last few weeks without a glitch or any frustration in daily operation. The image is great during the day and at night and I feel there is sufficient coverage in the event of an incident. I didn’t really think I would need the 4 channel all around view but it provided an additional sense of security when we can switch to certain parking mode and can leave our vehicle with whatever we are towing parked overnight with a little more piece of mind.Customer supportVantrue customer service is where they have left a strong impression; we’ve reached out with questions and they have responded within 24-48 hours with a clear response and a willingness to help. It also appears that Vantrue is keeping up with their firmware updates. This dashcam has useful features that are easy to use on a daily basis but most importantly, it’s a dashcam that appears to be reliable and that we feel we can depend on.

I have tried to break this down into a few pertinent points…Packaging:The entire product was nicely (professionally) presented and packaged. Each item unwrapped was well protected by the packaging. You are left with the impression that a lot of care and preparation has gone into the packaging, manual and product presentation… all of which is good as the entire product looks and feels top notch.Camera’s:There are 2 camera units each with two camera’s. The primary (bigger of the two units provided) has a forward facing camera and a rear facing camera. This would typically be mounted on your front window. The second smaller unit (which also has two camera’s) is for rear facing traffic and also for looking back into the vehicle (which is nice as you can then see what is happening behind you without having to turn around). You should note that the primary camera has a solid feel and weight to it. Aesthetically speaking the camera’s look professional and classy.Cables:USB A to C for the power cable (12v) and USB C to USB C for connecting the rear camera. The cable is long and really solidly made… No concerns about kinking or damaging this.Manual:Big… comes in multiple languages but it is really well organized. Easy to follow and for once good large sized colour pictures to follow. 5 stars for this!Installation:Not difficult but the main forward facing unit is quite compact and heavy and although it has not fallen off, I do not get the sense that it is secure enough to remain where I have placed it (double sided tape is provided but a suction cup similar to what is used for mounting cell phone holders would have been a better choice or even a way to hang it securely off the rear mirror). I have the feeling that, especially if there is an accident or substantial road bump, the unit will come free … it has not as yet but…Running the wires is something that will vary for each vehicle but suffice to say the cable provided is long enough (and has a really solid built/feel) for the task. In terms of setting up the camera – date, time, etc… there are a lot (did I mention a lot) of features for this unit … Basic setup takes about 5 minutes but if you want to delve deeper into this, you should set a good 45 minutes aside. Placement of the front camera unit should be given some consideration as it has a camera that also faces into the vehicle and so cannot be placed, for example, behind the rear mirror. The best place I found was high up and to the right of the rear mirror so the camera was not obstructing my view and generally not distracting me.Some favourite features:Setting the resolution on the cameras was surprisingly easy and there were a number of variations/options per individual camera or per unit – 5 stars again. This is a nice feature as obviously the higher the resolution (per camera) the more memory the unit requires. Vantrue sells a 256gig card that I purchased and would recommend… probably last a week before the recording starts to overwrite saved images (assuming you have set Loop Recording to between 1 and 3 minutes).Night pictures on high resolution were surprisingly clear which is probably one of the most important features I can think of.One feature I have not had a chance to try but will is voice control.Once you have downloaded the software onto your phone, connecting and viewing the images saved is relatively simple (again, nicely done).A feature I generally avoid:The buffered parking/motion detection is something I personally avoid… these sort of features have a tendency to cause unintended issues (in the past I have read about other units that have drained the car battery).Overall a fantastic camera that has all the best features one could ask for. It is getting cold and I have found this has not impacted the camera which speaks to it’s build quality…I would highly recommend this unit.

  6. Well

it’s amazing. The setup was straightforward, and the WiFi feature makes it super easy to view and manage footage. The 360-degree coverage captures everything around the car in crystal-clear quality. It’s reliable and provides peace of mind while driving. Definitely worth the investment for anyone looking for comprehensive road safety.

🙏This camera does everything it’s supposed to do, and it does it well : it’s perfect, easy to install and configure and the video quality is excellent. Just a small itch: the ‘’parking’’ function will be available only if the camera is hardwire to the 12 V battery, like factory-installed onboard cameras (we own a Polestar 2 and this brand does not offer this option) Note: I *strongly* advise to get the optional succion cup mount, which provides the best adherence when the windshield is even moderately cold or warm while even the best of glues gets too hard or too liquid. As for the customer service: it does not come any better than that of Vantrue 👌 (I especially recommend Mrs Reyna, the sweetest, really customer-oriented super-rep!)

I have had this dash cam for almost one year. Still working great. It is good for parking mode. I just got a usb A cigarette input and connected to battery bank. Just need to make sure it can output 2.4A and 5v. This was the easiest setting to use parking mode rather than using hardwire option…Hardwire option drains and damages the car battery and this would not be covered , that was told by the dealer.
