Small size, great performance for OMD system cameras. Value for money.
I owned a Panasonic 25 mm 1.7 lens prior to this one. I was using it with an Olympus EM10 MkII but I was getting somewhat soft images no matter what I did. I switched to this lens and it made all the difference. It is the perfect choice for a nifty fifty for OMD cameras. I love the size, quality, and handling of the lens as well as the color rendition and definition. It is perfect for the prize. I do street and I carry one lens in my pocket while shooting with the other. Right now my goto combo is this one and the fantastic Olympus 45mm 1.8.

Just What I Needed
This lens is a great addition to any M43 camera. For the price it canât be beat. Quick, and accurate auto focus. (All pictures were taken with Lumix GX85)Pros:Good priceLight weightCompactAffordable especially when bought usedCons:Manual focus is very difficult to usePlastic build feels kinda cheapNo zoom option in camera to help with already difficult manual focus

What a Lens!
I think this is the Olympus version of the famed Cannon 50mm. Tack sharp, wonderful colors, beautiful depth of field, excellent (for Micro 4/3) low-light performance, dreamy and fun. I have the 17mm and the 45mm and this one just feels a lot more useful (though I love the other two, too). If I had to pick just one of the three, this would be it. It’s relatively cheap, and the plastic feels a little light, but the glass is just superb. Highly recommended.

Wonderfully quick and a great walk around lens
A 50mm is always the first lens I get when I get a new camera system because I’m a portrait photographer. It wasn’t until I mounted a 50mm on a full frame did I fall even more in love with it. I recently ditched my DSLR for mirrorless. I got an XT-1 with, among other lenses, an awesome 56mm f/1.2. On the XT-1 the actual field of view is 80mm which is what I’m used to. Then I needed a backup camera and got the chance to get a Olympus EM5 MKII and this 25mm. Whoa! I shouldn’t have been so surprised but I’m just used to the cropped 50mm focal length. I can see no other lens on my EM5. Excellent walk around focal length and the size with this M43 is perfect for street photography. And I agree with every other review that the focus speed is super fast.

Olympus 25mm 1.8 vs Panasonic 25mm 1.4
Fast, sharp, small… what’s not to like? Focuses silently and quickly. It is fast in single AF while taking photos, but it is slower than some other lenses in continuous AF during video recording. This is on an Olympus body too, not Panasonic. Sometimes it takes a while for it to even start to refocus in video. You can see a comparison to the Panasonic 25mm 1.4 if you search for ‘Robin Wong and Olympus 25mm’.Basically smaller, lighter, closer focusing distance and similar sharpness, if not slightly better corners on the Oly.On sale at $300 a no-brainer, but now that it’s back to $400, could be a toss up.If you need the marginally better low light or the Leica branding and have an extra $150 to spare. For me closer focusing distance sealed the deal. You can get nice and close. That’s why I prefer the Panasonic 42.5mm to the Olympus 45mm on the other hand.

This is a Perfect Lens
Zoom lenses are nice (and you should own a couple), but prime lenses are the basis of fundamental photography. And this one is an absolute jewel. The lens also includes a lens hood, which is a nice feature not mentioned in the description. If you want an ND or polarizer filter for this lens, buy one. But you do NOT need a UV filter, as one is included and built in, another feature not mentioned in the product description.

Great Lens!
Amazing lens! I bought this to use with my Olympus Pen EPL7 for better quality photos. It does great in natural light and pretty well in low light when you hold your camera steady. Takes pretty photos of food and people (you get a nice little bokeh going on if you are into portrait photography). I use this to take photos for my travel blog too instead of lugging around a heavy camera set up. This is a great lens for the price as well. It is the equivalent of a 50 mm for a full frame DSLR, which is the best lens ever! So, I am glad I have something comparable to use for my smaller cameras. I’ve included some photos on a trip to Italy so you can get a little idea of what this lens can do.

I bought this 25mm lens as I was going to Norway and wanted to have a go at photographing Northern Lights. I was pleased with the results. For the money, this is a light but sturdy little lens and it worked well in conjunction my Olympus mirrorless camera.

Bought for trip to UK and was swayed by the reviews. Lens lived up to all the reviews, crisp, fast and compact. Yes the body is not metal but this does not affect the quality of the pictures.
