    Works perfectly
I had the old Olympus camera and the battery died. I found these batteries and they’ve worked perfectly. They’ve given my rugged camera a new life. I also like the fact that instead of using the camera to charge, the charger that comes with it can charge the second battery, I can still use the camera and then I can just quickly switch out the batteries without losing any camera time.

    A good deal
If you buy a TG-5, as just did, you need a charger, since the camera doesn’t come with one. Olympus expects you to charge the battery in the camera with a USB cable, which means that you are using a capable and expensive camera to charge batteries! And the camera is out of action until there’s juice in the battery. It’s pretty awful to run out of power in just when things are getting good so it’s always good practice to have at least one extra charged battery within reach. This set seems to be well made and it works. Apparently it will charge in a car, American wall sockets and even comes with an adapter for use in Europe. I can’t speak for the quality of the batteries yet, but I will say that after market batteries have seldom let me down. This is a good deal for the price.

    Economical, High Capacity Solution
BLUF: This is a great deal. It is much more economical than the OEM solution of approximately $90 for a spare battery and charger. The charger may look big in the pictures, but does have a surprising small form factor (3.75″ L x 1.75″W x 1.5″ T).Purchased this not knowing what to expect — you get what you pay for type of thing. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the product was better than described. The capacity of the batteries was 2100-mAh, but were listed as 1500-mAh. This means more camera time/pictures…approximately 56% more than the OEM battery of 1350-mAh. If you trust the CIPA rating, which the Olympus TG-3 is rated at 330 pictures with the OEM battery, then the number of pictures taken with this higher capacity battery would be around 514. So, whatever the operating time is under your “standard conditions”, these batteries would increase it by roughly 50%. For those of you unfamiliar with the physics of batteries: equate battery voltage to water pressure; capacity to the size of the water reservoir. More water is better, but if comes out at too high a pressure it can rupture the plumbing (electronic circuits in this case). Keeping within the manufacturers voltage rating (3.6V in this case) is definitely recommended, especially for sensitive electronics.I didn’t buy this product because it included a screen protector. It’s not bad, but for the long term, there are better options (e.g. Zagg). If you need one, it comes with a universal screen protector that must be cut-to-size.This product has two anomalies associated with it: 1) the battery label/markings are incorrect; 2) the charger will not charge the batteries unless you insert the battery first and then plug it in to an outlet. The first simply requires paying attention to the terminals on the end of the battery to ensure they’re oriented correctly when inserting into the camera. For the camera, the orientation of the terminals are correct (+/- location), just not the “arrow” on the battery compared to that of the OEM — the markings correspond to the charger, not the camera. The second is odd, but if you plug the charger in first, and then insert the battery, it gives a green light — meaning it’s not charging…in lieu of amber indicating it is charging.

Perfect that the charger came with 2 batteries. Great price.
This was a great value. So far so good. I have not taken it on a big diving trip as of yet. Will keep you posted.

    TG-1 Battery and charger kit
I bought this kit because the TG-1 camera only comes with one battery and of course when your out on a shoot, it’s a good idea to have back up. I was scepticle that these non-Olympus batteries would last as long as the name brand battery. After using them both in rotation along with the actual Olympus battery several times, I’m happy to report they seem to last just as long as the original, if not longer! As an added bonus they come with a nifty little charger that plugs directly into the wall outlet. Also included is a DC “cigarette lighter adapter” that you can use to charge in your vehicle.Although it had no bearing on my deciding to make this purchase, this kit also includes two addition items that I actually use!First is a screen protector that is a stick on piece of clear plastic that use place over the display. There is enough of this material to cover the display (of my TG-1) four times! It is actually two large pieces you cut in half with a scissor. Thus when one gets scratched up you simply install a new piece. This saves your fragile display from damage. Also the kit comes with a fine micro fiber cloth in a little zip-lock bag that is perfect for removing accidental finger print smudges on the lens. I can testify to the added value of these two items, and I use them all the time.Recap: with this kit you get two batteries for less than the price of one genuine Olympus brand battery. Also a battery changer that allows you to use your camera while changing a spare battery.Toss in a set a of screen protectors, and lens cloth, and what deal !!!One last comment: I bought this kit from “Big Mikes” and it was delivered on time and in perfect condition. Total satisfaction!!!

Like the quality and the universal USB (type B)
At first, I thought the battery life was poor. Then I realized I had left logging on (a switch on the Olympus). Once I turned that off, the battery seems to be staying at full charge.I have another charger that uses a connection that is less common. I like that this uses a standard USB connection.
