Responsible Gambling

The California Gambling Control Commission encourages the public who participate in controlled gambling, to do so responsibly.

If you would like to voluntarily exclude yourself from California cardrooms, you can fill out a Self-Exclusion Form and return it to any licensed cardroom, or mail it to the addresses indicated on the form. The form must be either notarized or witnessed by a licensed cardroom employee. This does not include Tribal casinos.

Self-Excluded patrons are prohibited from collecting any unredeemed jackpots or prizes for the term specified on their form, which can be one year or lifetime. One-year Self-Exclusion terms are irrevocable. Removal from a lifetime term will require that the Self-Excluded person has currently been on the Self-Exclusion term for a minimum of one year prior to requesting removal. Removal will also require submission of a Self-Exclusion Removal Request Form.

For more information, please contact the Department of Justice, Bureau of Gambling Control's Exclusion Program at BGCEMS@doj.ca.gov or at 916-830-1700.
