Once I figured it out it was great
I received this speaker as a Christmas gift in 2022. When I first tried to get it to work, I couldn’t get it to sync to my laptop computer. I tried messing with it for a while, but finally gave up. I got frustrated because it was just one more thing I had to deal with, and I wasn’t in the mood and I didn’t want to deal with returning it, so I set it aside. Fast forward to March when I noticed it sitting near my desk. I decided to give it another go since my mother-in-law had taken up to watching shows/movies with me on my laptop. I have been trying to wean her off cable, since AT&T has gotten beyond ridiculous with their TV prices and my wife, and I hardly ever watch cable anymore. Anyway, when I first turned it on, it automatically synced to my laptop. Back in December, I couldn’t even get the colors on the speaker to work. Great, it’s working (even the colors). so, my mother-in-law and I used the speaker for a few hours, and it worked really well. My 83-year-old mother-in-law really liked it. She said it was nice not having to strain to listen to the show. Even with her hearing aids she has some difficulty hearing. Then I go to use it a second time, and it doesn’t work! Now I was really frustrated, but I decided to try and figure out why it stopped working. While messing with it, I decided to choose the headphone mode while in my settings on my laptop. Why not I tried everything else I knew to do, and boom, it worked. There is about 5 to 20 seconds of silence before the sound comes through the speaker when you first turn it on. Now that I can get it to work like it is supposed to, I love it. It has really good sound and the lights are fun. The only issue I still have, is that when I check the battery level for the speaker on my computer it is consistently showing a low battery level even though I have tried to charge it both through my laptop and by connecting it to a wall outlet. The red light goes out after a while when it is plugged in, which to me indicates the battery has been charged. I have used it for several hours and it hasn’t quit yet. I decided not to charge it for a while and see what happens. If I can’t get it to charge, I will be back to change my review.Update. I let the battery fully discharge while watching a show. I then charged it using my laptop. After a while it did show a full charge and it seems to be keeping up with the amount of charge that should be left based on my usage.

I bought this to use in my car after spending hundreds of dollars for auto stereo places telling they weren’t sure what was wrong, maybe wiring. For the price of this speaker, I get great sound, it’s durable, it’s attractive, and I’m perfectly happy with it.

DOSS has been putting out Bluetooth speakers for a while now and their latest if the Pro+. Judging from the product placement it fits between the Soundbox XL and the Pro, both in size, sound, and function. It is more akin to the Pro then the Soundbox XL due to the lights around the rim of the lights and stereo paring. However the sound is much closer to the Sound XL. The outer case comes in blue, green, or grey.The Pro+ comes in a rubberized case. The rubber seal covering the SD card slot, AUX input, and the USB charging port makes the Pro+ IPX5 waterproof. (It can be left in the rain but I wouldn’t recommend putting it underwater for extended periods of time.) The switches feel to be sealed preventing dust or other containments from getting in. I did not test the stereo paring so others will have to review that feature. I will say that I have a set of the DOSS Pros and they pair quite easily; the Pro+ should have no problems either.First of all, the lights. There are really three lights on the speaker, the rim light that outlines the front and two white LEDs, each in front of the high frequency drivers. When looking at the speaker, the LED faces the driver, hereby lighting it and not casting light out from the speaker. The rim lights are multicolor and will flash slow or fast, depending on the setting. The setting will allow you to choose the color. The lights tend to be used in party atmosphere or for kids’ bedrooms. If left plugged in, it could be used as a night light. However if you are like me, I tend to play it with the lights off.So let’s get down to the sound. Frequency response is very good. (Please keep in mind I’m in my early 60’s and my hearing isn’t like it used to be.) Running a freq generator from my phone through Bluetooth to the speaker I was able to hear a low freq of 53hz and a high end of 10750khz. The bass is clean without being overhanded. You may not notice the bass right away but give it some time and you will recognize it. If you turn on the extra bass and use an equalizer with it, it should produce the sound you want.I wanted to test battery life. The volume control comes in steps of 16 from minimum to maximum sound. I setup the speaker to play from my cell phone at max volume via Bluetooth, no lights, and extra bass. The first test was at step 10 of the Pro+ and it ran for 9:54 hours. The second test was at step 7, same conditions, and it ran for 12:33 hours. Not quite the 15 hours at 50% volume as they state but still pretty impressive.Final word. This is a great speaker. It sounds great, perfect for outdoor parties where weather can be a factor, and solidly built. It’s a very good buy for the money. It will work for the 90% of anything you at it, including taking to the river, beach, or pool.

Very simple speaker, easy to use there was no set up required other than connecting to it. It is a fairly loud speaker for an indoor speaker even when there’s lots going on around you can still hear it very well. The RBG was a nice touch there is a few different modes and is visible even when the lights are on. The bass isn’t incredible but it is noticeable, for $90 CAD your not going to get the same bass standard as a sub-woofer but you can notice it and it doesn’t ruin the music. The only reason it got a 9/10 is because the charging takes a bit and there is no indicator telling you how full it is. (Even if you have an iPhone it only shows the battery bar there is no percentage)Overall if your looking to buy a good speaker for a decent price, I would recommend this. It beats any walmart speaker, it doesn’t feel cheap. It has some weight to it, the sound quality is good, RBG (always a win), can get very loud depending on the space, doesn’t break the bank like the other name brand speakers, also is water resistant. Your not just paying for a brand, I tend to find some brand name speakers(Beats) feel cheap or has poor sound quality.

I bought this for a birthday present, but the box arrived broken, but because I didn’t have a back up gift, I had to give this one. Note that the exterior Amazon box was fine and not broken.This had already left a sour taste in my mouth, and to make it worse, when trying to use it, the sound was very bad. There was a high pitched squeaky sound. They sounded damaged.
