A few years ago, we replaced my fiancéeâs head-unit with one from Alpine that had Car Play. It worked great but it was wired and not really worth the effort for daily use. We bought this adapter so we could wirelessly connect it. Setup was a breeze, it sounds great, and was pretty easy to use. One thing I really liked was that it seamlessly reconnected the next time I got in the car without having to do anything. Itâs a good value for the money especially since there are others on here for twice the price. I did not get to try out Android Auto as weâre an iPhone family. Iâd totally recommend this.

Stopped working after 3 months
Worked amazing when I first got it. Loved being able to get into car and have Android Auto automatically connect without a cord. Easy to connect and worked perfect with Android phone. About 3 months later my phone was no longer able to connect. Tried to reconnect Bluetooth but it never broadcasted a signal once I unpaired it. Bought a second one that only worked for 1 week. Now I’m back to connecting with a cord.

Works good, except!
Bought this for my Jeep Cherokee and it wasnât the best. The usb cord is very short and the port on the Cherokee is on the front of shift console and I could not attach the unit anywhere because the cord is so short, so it kinda just hung there. Then when connected it worked great for CarPlay but my iPhone would not connect for some reason, so I put the unit in our Jeep Renegade. It fits great in the Renegade and attached under a storage pocket right by the usb port. It works great in the Renegade with CarPlay and the iPhone, no problems. The short cord is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 and the iPhone not working in Cherokee, maybe a little more messing around with it I might have figured it out. Price is a little steep but it was worth the convenience of not having to plug the iPhone in every time you got into the car.

Works great on my 2019 Lincoln Navigator
Tried this first on my 2019 Mazda CX-5. Couldn’t get it to work. Reset it multiple times and reconnected, never could get it to work. I tried it again on my wifes 2019 Lincoln Navigator and it worked the first try. It must not be compatible with my Mazda, but that’s probably not the dongle but rather the car’s version of Android Auto. Overall, happy with the purchase and glad to no longer deal with wires to get Android Auto to work. For the price paid, really happy with this and recommend.***UPDATE***I realized that my Android Auto settings on my phone were not set up to allow “wireless android auto”. This is why the dongle didn’t work with my Mazda CX-5. Nothing to do with the dongle, nothing to do with the car. It was my settings on my phone. Once I updated the setting, everything works in both cars.

Android Auto not working.
I gotta stop buying these things. This is the third such device i have bought and, so far, only one has worked as designed. The Apple CarPlay part works. Connects quickly. Not sure how stable because i didn’t test it on a road trip. But it seemed stable enough. However, i bought this because i thought this was an all-in-one unit and all i have to do i switch back and forth between Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as the description said. Well…no. As soon as i plugged it in on my 2018 Outback, it connected to the bluetooth and i had an indication it was so on the head unit. Then i saw that only the Apple CarPlay was lit up while the AndroidAuto was not. I then paired it with my S23 Ultra as per instructions and it did. For about three seconds. Then the connection dropped. Tried it again. Same thing. After some fiddling and restarting and cleaning the cache, it finally had a stable connection but AndroidAuto still won’t start. I was supposed to have a choice as to which app i wanted to activate (CarPlay or AndroidAuto) but i never did. It just went straight to CarPlay. Maybe some of you had more success than i did, but this is going back to Amazon. And this will, probably, be the last one i will be buying. Or not.

Randomly disconnect from phone
It is a very good product and Idea. It pair to my phone (S22) without problem. The reason for 3 stars instead of 5, is because it disconnect from my phone randomly un the worst moments (by example while I’m following directions from Google Maps, Sygic or Waze) and takes too much time to reconnect… Sometimes I need to stop my car at right lane to wait until it reconnects again, which is annoying and a safety risk!!! Need to improve it for a stable and safe connection.
