    I dropped my original lens cap in the river. As I watched it float away I knew I had to get a replacement pronto and this one does the job well. It actually has a better grip than the original. And there’s two in case one gets lost.

    It was like a movie scene. On the first leg of a “to be” a day of traveling, I entered the elevator struggling to get my body and rolling suitcase in before the doors closed. As I leaned forward to pull the bag the rest of the way, my camera, that was hanging from my shoulder, swung to the closing door just in time to be pinched in the middle. Someone hit the “open door” button, and as soon as it opened the lens cover, having been pinched just right, came off and fell across the gap that lead to the lower floors. It was suspended for the briefest of a second, and then down it went. All in the elevator let out a sigh of sorrow as we heard it hit somewhere below. No time to retrieve it, and not knowing where the where would be, the elevator continued up, and our journey continued without my lens cover. So, as you can see, I am glad that the lens cover that I ordered FITS. It Fits!

    I purchased these replacement lens caps after I lost the Nikon original cap. These replacement caps seem to fit tighter and better than the original that came with the lens. The keeper cord works beautifully, I doubt that I will ever lose another lens cap.
