Very punchy little stereo
I picked this up so we could have some extra music in the kitchen while doing chores, not disappointed with the quality of the sound at all. Works well as a set of gaming speakers, too. Not so great for trying to stream bluetooth video, there’s about a half-second of mis-synch between what you hear and what you see on the screen. That may be just something endemic with bluetooth though, and not the fault of the stereo. You might be fighting that no matter what your choice is in that case. It does have an aux jack, so you can hardwire your way around that problem.Water resistance: I scored it 4 stars not because I’ve dunked it in water to test the theory, but the plug set has a snug-fitting rubber gasket that fills the slot. It looks like it should do well to keep incidental splashes from taking anything out as long as you have it in place. I docked it a star because you can’t use the USB music stick feature and maintain it’s waterproof shield at the same time. Just be careful.

Poor manâs audiophile
I tend to follow the philosophy of âyou get what you pay forâ, and have generally had consistently good results with it. From an audio perspective, Iâve never dropped boutique band money on my components, but have stuck to the workhorse mid-range brands of Onkyo, Marantz, Sony ES, or Pioneer Elite. I wanted a decent Bluetooth speaker for outdoor use- something that wouldnât cost heartbreak money if it were damaged. Now it has only been a couple weeks, so weâll see how the longevity of this speaker is, but the sound quality is on par with most $100-$150 portable speakers Iâve tried. Iâve run the volume at 75% of max for over a couple hours with little-to-no break up. Bass is decent⦠not overwhelming and definitely not muddy. If you are looking for something with bass that will hit you in the chest, this is not it, but for the wattage and woofer size, it has a nice low end presence. The lighting effect was not necessary as part of my selection process, but seemed like a fun effect for nighttime use – it is. I control the speaker primarily through my streaming music app controls, but the included remote is a nice bonus. Overall, for the mid $50 price on sale, Iâm exceedingly pleased at this point.

 I bought this speaker and used it maybe 4 times before the charging port stopped working. I emailed the manufacturer and they sent me another one. It was not easy, or convenient to do so either. Regardless they did send me a new one and now this one makes this weird skipping noise and I have only used it twice.

This is really and truly waterproof. Went camping this past weekend and got caught in a complete deluge of rain and this thing was covered in water and kept banging through it all. Taking one star off because it takes about 3 hours to charge, which is a pain. Great unit though and very happy with it.
