The BEST and PERFECT for our RV!
We’ve been searching and researching multiple DVR options for our Winnebago Via. Needless to say – windshield option would not work for us – too far to reach from the dashboard area and the only option would that would work would be “on the dash” types.Our RV is equipped with a back-up and side-view cameras, but what we really needed is an option to record (DVR) while we are on the road and if need to – in accessory mode as well. Here are the reason why we think this DVR option is one of the BEST out there available for an RV with our set-up:1. The screen size is 9″ and it “fits perfectly on our dashboard. 4k definition is true and front recording is sharp during night and day driving.2. The rear-view camera that this set comes equipped with is 1080k. But we wanted a “clean” install, so we opted out for another “aftermarket” 1080p camera that is installed “flush” with the body of our RV (please see pictures attached). We ran the cable (55′ length purchased separately) from the dashboard via grommet and all the way under the body of our RV to the back.3. The boot screen is custom-made by the customer support. If you supply the image to them – they will create a custom boot file and you can extract (from .zip file) and download it to SD card and boot-up the unit with it – that’s all it takes.4. Android Auto works like magic – upon the start of RV, it connects to our android phone and we can use all the favorite apps we have – Waze, RV Life, Pandora, etc. When there is a need to see cameras – front or rear (they rotate by sliding the screen – front, front/back split, back) – just exit out of Android Auto and click “DVR” button – that’s all there is to it. When need to go back to Android Auto – just press the app on the same screen – voila!5. The unit is quite fast and responsive. We upgraded our SD card to 128 Gb, as we enabled 4k for the front and it is 1080p for the back. There is a G sensor on this unit in case of hits or bumps – it locks in and records for a few minutes as a stand along file.6. We used 90-degree micro-C connector to make a connection “clean,” so wires do not stick out and it worked perfectly.7. Since we already had a “cigarette” plug installed at a driver’s footwell – we opted out for this option. The good part is that their supplied power unit has a single USB outlet in it – we plugged one c-cable to power-up our Android cell phone on driver’s side.8. Customer support is awesome. They are in China, so some delay is expected. They are spot-on and no waste of our time. Be ready for “Hello Dear Friend” messages. If need to – they record a video on how-to and send your way.Overall – very clean install and quite frankly – very good value for the money spent/invested into this unit. We are very pleased and will recommend it to anyone who owns RVs with a large dashboard.Word of advice – the supplied 12v lines on rear-view cable are for “back-up” option only. Do not connect them for “rear-view” option. We did not realize it at first and during our interactions with the customer support we finally realized that rear-view camera is already powered “as-is.”DEFINITELY RECOMMEND for RV’ers! A+ solution!

Awesome front and rear backup Camea
I was looking for a rear backup camera and came across this on Amazon. It had a lot of positive reviews and I decided to try this out. There is a lot of choices out there with different price range. This one seems to be in the middle of price with good overall satisfied customer reviews. Install was pretty straight forward on an 07 Hummer H3. Ran the wire down a section in the Hummer in the middle of the dashboard with a cut out section from the factory. See pictures for reference. I ran the rear camera wire along the driver side headliner and was able to get the wire through the oem wire rubber grommet for a a clean look at the back. See pictures for reference. I had to drill two small holes in the plastic rear window surrounding to install the camera since i wanted the camera to be inside of the vehicle. Overall a pretty easy setup. Now for the performance. Both camera works nicely. The picture on both camera is very vivid and clear in the day and night time view. I was also able to connect my phone through Bluetooth to utilize android auto. You can have android auto on the left screen, radio in the middle and a camera view on the right side. This is all customizable where you can do all android auto or just the camera views. Overall very satisfied with the purchase. I can now see in the back when trying to park in reverse and know how far back I can go. As for the longevity, not too sure yet since I just got this about two days ago. Seems like a pretty good built unit and it has a one year warranty. Customer service is very responsive when I FB messaged them for the warranty and they asked if I wanted a customized picture on the start up menu.
