Amazing, Definitely worth the purchase!
Dash cam quality, and capturing is Excellent. I would upgrade the Sim card to a bigger one because itâs an 16 gig, But is good quality. Reader detector is Excellent too The text how I patrol around curves and from pretty far out even if they are on the opposite side of the highway. You can go ahead and mark on Waze or whatever app you use to help other drivers. also has a compact design for both units so it doesnât take up much space of your windshield, Which is a plus if a cop tries to hassle you over a ticket over Blocking your vision. The app could use some work, also does take a while to load so donât think itâs Internet. But easily manageable. Update: After having on for a while, I can highly recommend the 380i and dash cam, it filters out false alerts detects HPâs at a good distance and around corners, also for the camera has steady focus and clear quality.

5-Stars! But….
… these 5 stars are for the detector alone at under $150!DO NOT download and sign up for the app!1. It doesn’t work well. I had to turn off my smart watch as it got stuck in a loop with notifications.2. They’ll bombard your email with junk emails! The detector works great! I got it for a spare car and am comparing it to my 4 times more expensive Escort.Pros:Few falses and very modest alerts (voice) on K and X band. More assertive with alarm and voice on Ka and there was cops so it WORKS! Display is clear and bright enough in daylight. Functions are clear enough but you may wanna download a full manual.Cons:Mounting is okay. Feels secure but not Escort nice. Cord is just that, a cord. Long enough for any cigarette lighter plug-in but has no buttons. If you wanna mute an alert you need to reach the mute button on the detector. Closest to you but still far away, especially in a truck or SUV etc.But overall a 5 STAR $150 detector! Does all the Escort do for me (I just hang it and expect it to point out police radars in the vicinity. ) I actually like Cobra alerts better as they’re not in your face like Escort.I recommend this product but don’t download the app and expect to actually use the buttons on the detector (if you need to, I set mine up and now don’t touch it other than the occasional mute when a cop is close for a long time.)

Suction cups do NOT hold the device to the windshield.
The COBRA radar detector works great. The problem is that the SUCTION CUPS on the mounting bracket do NOT hold the device onto the windshield!! Every time I get into my car, the radar detector is laying on the floor!! When I put it back on the windshield, it just falls off again!!! I purchased TWO of these units (one for me, and one for my wife) and they BOTH have the same problem. If the unit will not stay in place, that makes it totally USELESS!!!!!! I would appreciate it if the SELLER or the MANUFACTURER would send me some suction cups that actually WORK for these TWO radar detectors that I bought!!!! Like I said, if the suction cups will NOT hold the unit in place, THAT makes the radar detector totally USELESS!!!!

A great budget radar detector
Here’s an improved version of your review for the Cobra 480i:—The Cobra 480i is an excellent radar detector. It consistently alerts me to police presence well in advance, giving me ample time to adjust my speed. The few false alerts I’ve experienced are minimal and don’t detract from its overall performance. Highly recommended!

Great Device, Support App Doesn’t Work
I bought the RAD 480i and am happy with it as I received it. I downloaded the required Drive Smarter app per the instructions and created an account. The settings they want access to are a bit of overreach so I limited one or two. The app wouldn’t work so I deleted it and figured I’d just use the manual instructions. The instructions only send you to the Drive Smarter app and don’t provide any user information, just set up. I downloaded the app again and gave it all the permissions it asked for and then it said, the app needs to run in the background all the time so you need to go to Settings and set that permission to proceed. I tried to back out, refresh, click around; no other option, so I deleted it again. I tried to reach out to Cobra and the app from the vendor link, but it takes you to a website where your comment card disappears with no confirmation of receipt. If they have another app or another way to use the RAD 480i, I may have a great review to provide, but the app destroys the function of the device. Now I have to take the time to return it and find a system that does what it says it does.

NICE!
This detector is one of the better ones I’ve had. I just had it hard wired in to my Challenger. It seems to warn you far ahead of the danger and I’m finding stop light camera’s where I never knew they were before. For my taste the warnings repeat too much and seem incessant at times. Other than that minor irritation this is well made and comes with a very nice mount.

Nice features but it picks up a lot of error warnings?
I got this radar because of the ratings and the value it gives you for such a great price. After using it for a month I notice that it picks up a lot of error warnings. Sometimes it picks ups motion detector from home alarms. It appears that it works best during long drive in the open freeway and I’m keeping this for that purpose however expect a lot of false warnings when you come into the city. I have Valentine’s and escorts radar detectors to compare it to so I know what I’m talking about. And the range seems very shorter compared to my other expensive radars. Makes sense because it is cheaper.

I’ve owned this rader detector for almost a year now and It’s worth every penny! The frequency of the alerts are clear even over my blasting music and subs. It scans in front of the car and behing so it dosnt miss anything. The volume and buttons easy to access. You can even customize which alerts you receive or don’t.It also has a Cobra app that connects to the scanner so you can “Mark” areas that you commonly receive the same alert. When connected to the app it displays the speed limit, and if there’s a red light scanner coming up.Only downside is the suction cups that it comes woth are very weak so i upgraded to the mirrow mount.

Mr. Flausenaustreiber –
