    Not a one size fits all solution for gut health
    I am righting this review after being on this supplement for 120 days!! I am lactose sensitive and was experiencing a range of gut health issues when I began this probiotic. It was recommended to me by a coworker who also has a lactose sensitivity and said she could digest lactose while she was taking this supplement. When I first began taking this supplement it made me bloated and constipated. Upon a quick google search I found this could be normal when first starting a probiotic so I kept on taking it assuming it would go away, as lactose was in fact easier on my stomach while taking it. During these 120 days I have experienced weight fluctuation (uncharacteristic of my body), bloating, constipation, and random breakouts in areas of my face that have never been an issue before. Embarrassingly enough, it took me until now having forgotten to reorder a new bottle and having been off this supplement for over a week to discover the supplement was the cause. After being off it for a week, my skin is clear, my bloating is completely gone, and my BM schedule is regular! Simply accepting that I can’t have lactose and cutting it out of my diet has made my gut very happy! Upon some research I’ve discovered that taking a probiotic supplement when one is not needed can cause these symptoms I’ve listed. I HIGHLY recommend you see a gastroenterologist for your gut health issues before taking a probiotic supplement. Our guts already contain probiotics (health bacteria) and taking a probiotic supplement can cause this healthy bacteria to over produce gas or upset the balance of good and bad bacteria, leading to more gut health issues as I experienced! I am reviewing this product as a 3/5 because I do not doubt that if your gut health is lacking due to under active bacteria in your digestive tract, that this product would help. BUT, you should consult a gastroenterologist for gut health issues first as it could be caused by food insensitivities, an insufficient diet, viruses, or a million other things! So, this product is not a one size fits all gut health solution.
