Very comfortable with clean look, no tread wrap around
I like New Balance shoes. I learned many shoes ago that NB runs about 1/2 size smaller than many other shoes. So if you normally wear 10 1/2, try the NB 11 for a perfect fit. That is my experience. I have some foot problems and in general NB has very cushioned and comfortable foot beds. The uppers wear well too. Some are better than others. This MW877 has the best feel out of the box and I’ve worn them several weeks now, every other day, all day, without discomfort. That is unusual for me and is why I am writing this. NB has many styles. I have many of their walking shoes, the MW series, and will share what I’ve found.I have the MW977 boots, and MW780, MW950, MW759, MW3000, and now the MW877 shoes. While all these are the MW series walkers, tread and comfort vary. The boots have deep tread and have a stiff but very comfortable foot bed. I’ve had them for years and the stiff foot bed has not deteriorated. Great for walking a dog along a creek or a longer trail hike, but not for gardening because deep tread allows lots of dirt to pack into the bottom. The 780 and the 950 look similar. The 780 has almost as much tread as the boots and a mesh top. The 950 has an all leather top and very light tread. Former good for light hiking, latter for gardening. All three mentioned are older and may not be available now. I mention them so that if you have them, it may help you with my comparisons. Also the last two have had their foot beds deteriorate over the years. They are fine for a few hours, but then my feet start to complain. I’ve tried the replacement soles and they just haven’t worked for me. I have foot problems, they may be just fine for you. But grasp that all these NB shoes have uppers that wear well enough to consider putting replacement soles into after several years. These last three shoes are newer, within the last two years. The 759 has been my “go to” shoes for everyday with jeans. Very comfortable foot bed with mesh upper and medium tread. They look similar to cross trainers with the medium tread. The 3000 I got earlier this year. They are all leather uppers and have light tread, There is some similarity to the 950 mentioned earlier, but the 3000 look much nicer and they are very comfortable for all day. They look nice enough to wear with casual dress slacks… my opinion. The new 877 are kind of a cross between the 3000 and the 950. They have the mesh upper, so they look a little like cross trainers, but the tread on the bottom is so light, it reminds me of a boat shoe. It’s not what I expected – different look. Not that they don’t look good. They have a very clean look, no tread wrap around. Putting them on changed my mind. They are the most comfortable NB shoes I’ve had and they look pretty good too. So I hope this comparison helps. Just to prove my opening sentence, I also have a pair each of the NB cross trainers and runners. I do like New Balance.

Once broken in, the most comfortable walking shoe
I have metatarsalgia. I have tried every Skechers walking shoe, including every Max Cushion. The problem with Max Cushion shoes is that the cushioning deforms fast and does not stabilize the foot. These shoes are surprisingly cushioned and comfortable. And they keep my foot from eventually leaning when using an arch support. Yes, I can actually walk off pavement with these. I discovered they just needed a short break in. The weight and structure is a plus not a minus. And the width for my 15W feet is excellent. They aren’t pretty, but they aren’t ugly either. But why the tongue is relatively short (but adequate) and the laces so long is a mystery. Also note the reasonable price versus their more astronomical walking models.

Comfortable Shoes
Well made, fits and comfortable with no need to break in. Only downside is that it appeared to be an item used as laces on right was not correctly laced like the left shoe. I thus had to remove and lace it correctly.

Incredible Shoe –with orthotics
My running days are probably over. I purchased this as my first walking shoe, slid in my orthotics and off I went. These might be the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. I ordered a second pair already.I average 20k+ steps a day, have put over 100 miles on them already, and I’ve had no issues. I hope they last a long time.My only gripe is that the standard liner is very thin and flimsy.

Fits very wide feet
I have very wide feet with high arches. Usually order wide shoes several sizes larger than necessary to avoid toe crunch. These shoes are wide throughout the total length, especially the toes. Very happy with them. Will probably buy a second pair just to insure I have a pair ready for a long time.

Not very comfortable when standing
I wear New Balance cross trainers and really like them so thought I would try these. Though they fit perfect and I loved the roomy toe box and color, they became intolerable to stand in.Walking was very comfortable but if you stopped to stand , it puts uneven pressure on your heels so not comfortable at all. I wear orthotics and found this shoe to be painful. The shoe construction itself is very good, but if you want a shoe for other then walking, I wouldn’t suggest this model. I would look at a Cross Trainer like the 608

I Love the New Balance 619’s
I have purchased at least 12 pairs over the years. I wish New Balance e still made them. I ‘ve worn out at least 10 pairs. They are good for cross training and walking.
