    Game changer
I wasn’t sure I needed an air fryer but when my convection toaster oven finally died, I thought this might be a good replacement. I’m so glad I took the leap! I use this more than any other appliance (outside of the coffee maker!). The first thing I tried was toast. LOL But I ended to know if it was going to do the job of my dead toaster. Some users have complained that it doesn’t toast well. It does great, just not in the traditional way. I pre-heat it for a few minutes while cutting my bread and then put it on sear. After a few minutes, flip the bread! Now you will get a nice toasting on both sides.Next up, rotisserie chicken. This is a total game changer. It could not be easier. The hardest part is finding a small chicken (no more than 4 pounds). But wow is this delicious and it does not take long!We use the rotisserie basket to do our fries as then you don’t have to shake and rearrange them to get them crispy. The pre-programmed functions are super helpful and take the guesswork out of converting a recipe. I use the programs for sausage, brats, bacon, and various veggies (we sous vide so I do not use the grill feature).Oh yes – bacon. So quick and easy! I do line the bottom tray with foil just to make clean up a bit easier but I will never do bacon any other way.On the note of cleanup – I agree with other reviews, clean it ASAP! I find it much easier to keep everything clean if I do so as soon as the unit cools off. I will generally toss the mesh trays in a sink of hot water and then use a kitchen brush to get any baked on stuff off. Only then do they go in the dishwasher. Same with the bottom tray. Make sure to remove and stuck on food prior to putting in the dishwasher. Use a clean rag to wipe down the inside (important so you don’t get buildup). One of my favorite things about cleanup on this unit is that the door comes off easily. Yes, others complain about this but once you see how it operates and you know how to open and close it properly, the fact that you can take it off to clean far outweighs the issue of it being easy to come off. No more crumbs caught in the crack! And as an added bonus, the glass can be removed as well if necessary (I have not had to do so yet). This is a fairly large unit so take measurements. that’s the only real “con” I can think of!

Great way to cook small chicken.
I recently bought this fryer and I made my first chicken in it last night. I am very impressed. It cooked evenly even though I accidently put it on the rack upside down.I used # 34 for preprogrammed Butter Chicken in the recipe book, however, I just sprayed the chicken with coconut nonstick spray and seasoned with lemon pepper, so much less fat then the original recipe in the cookbook it came with.I covered the bottom drip pan with tin foil so super easy cleanup. The only problem was finding 4 lb chickens. I found that an Amazon fresh store near me, has tons of 4 lb chickens.I made the large cut steak fries that were delicious as well. I tried doing them in the closed basket on rotisserie but the fries fall thru the basket as it turns. So, next time I put them in the same basket but didn’t use rotisserie. Instead, I turned the basket over manually half way thru cooking, problem solved. I would very much recommend this product.

    More Than Meets My Needs
My Needs:Smallish footprint. No burns.Even cooking.Versatility.Intuitive operation or a good manual.Durability.Shouldn’t be too hard, right? I had an Emerson convection toaster oven that took great care of my family for almost exactly 15 years. When it died a week ago, I looked at the counter space and thought SCORE!Then we tried to live without a toaster oven.I have a Samsung smart range that I would marry if not for my husband’s objections. It does a lot and has a lot of perfectly calibrated presets. But it’s a big machine that uses gas and electricity and takes a while to heat up and that’s a lot to reheat a slice or a sandwich. And, even though it’s a lot better insulated than the oven it replaces, it does heat the kitchen in the summer. And wouldn’t you know it? Right after the toaster oven died, we had need to heat a sandwich. The dead toaster oven was oppressing us.It’s a first world problem and we are first world people, but we are not made of money, and it was Presidents Day. So we bought this thing. It stays cool enough to be able to put your hand on it while it airfries. My actual air fryer will scorch you if you try laying hands on it. You can touch the sides, the top, the door, the handle. Warm? Yes. Do you harm? No.The footprint is smaller than my old one. It’s small enough that I can pull it out to the end of the counter and not have it under my cabinets while it cooks. So far, it cooks perfectly evenly. Tater tots come out looking like little brown shirts or army tots, completely conforming, each to the others. The probe seems accurate.Accessories were easy to set up, but the oven operation is a bit opaque on the panel. Luckily, the manual works. It’s an alleged air fryer? But there’s no preset for that (you can make one if you’re into operator’s manual deep dives). And it’s very versatile – bread proof/yogurt temp all the way up to air fry. I just lost the need for three different appliances.Hope this thing lasts. I kind of love it.
